Down Day*

So…since I’m a life coach who works with others to define and live their dreams, you’d think that I have it all together.

Right?

Here’s the thing…coaches struggle sometimes, too.

For me that was yesterday.

I had what I tell my husband is a “Down Day.”

A Down Day is a day where - for reasons I still cannot entirely make sense of after many

years - I can’t get myself moving…

At all.

Can’t accomplish anything.

Feel like my body is made of lead.

My thoughts return to old negative stories that don’t serve me anymore:

- “I’m not good enough”

- “Why would anyone want me as their coach when I’m such a mess?”

- “I’m a failure.”

And because our thoughts lead to our feelings which then lead to our actions/behaviors, my negative thoughts keep me on the couch, feeling terrible. Doing nothing.

I’m just down for the count on a Down Day.

That was yesterday.

And today…well, today I’m sitting in my studio writing to you lovely folks.

Recovering.

Reminding myself that our thoughts become things. So those old, negative thoughts that were rolling around in my brain yesterday aren’t going to move the needle forward in the wonderful life I’m creating for myself.

Today I’m feeling better.

Getting back on track.

I recently bought myself a t-shirt that says on the front:

“Everyone Is Fighting a Battle You Know Nothing About.”

It’s true. Now you know my battle. The Down Day.

The t-shirt company also sent me the lovely sticker that I put on my health journal:

“Grow Through What You Go Through.”

I’m going through it…and I’m growing through it.

Thanks for listening.

Hope you are having a good day.
