Consistency

It’s not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives. It’s what we do consistently.

- Tony Robbins

So, are you a consistency-is-the-key-to-success kind of person?

Or more a fly-by-the-seat-of your-pants type?

Me?

In a many areas of my life and business I've been the fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants kind of gal.

A perfect example: blog posts.

For years, I've mostly "pantsed" it with my blog posts.

When I was inspired...I wrote.

When I wasn't...I didn't it.

So my communication has been a bit...let's say...random.

And how effective is that?

Not very.

Here's the thing...pantsing it is fine.

Sometimes.

But over the long-term, flying by the seat of your pants doesn't move the needle when you want to grow.

What does?

Consistency.

Want to lose weight?

You can't just eat healthy a few times and work out occasionally. You have to do both consistently over time to see real results.

Want to grow your business?

Showing up once a week won't get it done. You have to attend to it daily so your clients or customers know they can rely on you to be there for them.

Want to learn how to play the piano?

Consistency is key (pun intended...)

Basically, in the simplest terms, consistent small actions done regularly over time almost always beat big efforts only done occasionally.

Consistency also:

  • Builds trust and reliability

  • Creates momentum and steady progress

  • Makes goals easier to measure and track

  • Strengthens self-discipline and self-confidence

  • Helps form good habits

  • Reduces uncertainty and stress

  • Increases focus and clarity

So after all this, here’s what I’m committing to...

Showing up more consistently.

Even when it’s not perfect.

No more pantsing it.

Because done consistently beats done occasionally...

Every time.

Right?
